Token Bridging

Introduction to Token Bridging on HamsterChain

HamsterChain provides a seamless way to transfer tokens between Layer 1 (L1) and Layer 2 (L2) networks using the HamsterChain Bridge. This ensures that your assets are securely and efficiently moved within the blockchain ecosystem.

Token deposits

Native ETH

Currently, the only bridgable token supported is the native ETH token.

Bridging the native token to the L2 is very straight forward, you simply need to send your eth to the appropriate L1 bridge contract, which you can find under L1StandardBridgeProxy in the Chain Contracts and Tokens. Then use your favourite wallet provider, to send the desired eth amount to the bridge. After the transaction is confirmed you will see the ETH balance on your L2 wallet address.

Other Tokens

Currently, the only supported deposit tokens are ETH. We are however working on adding some other ERC20 tokens, so stay tuned.

Token withdrawals

Token withdrawals from L2 to L1 are currently not supported, but are in development. Be sure to follow out official channels for any new updates on this topic.

Using Third-Party Bridges

There is no other official bridge that supports cross-chain token transfers on HamsterChain. Before using any bridge be sure to check if the tokens sent over it are appropriately credited on the other chain.

Using the official HamsterChain bridge guarantees the security of your assets.
